even some doctors weren’t completely satisfied with current prophylaxis treatments. Are you?

In a survey of 62 doctors:
• 40% were not completely satisfied with non-factor therapy that works like Factor 8 (Factor 8 mimetic therapy)
• 53% felt the same about Factor 8 extended half-life therapy due to concerns about administration and dosing
These doctors had concerns about efficacy (how well the product treats bleeds), and side effects/safety, too.a,b

aThe number of HCPs who have reported being satisfied with current treatment is unknown.
bBased on a study of 326 patients with hemophilia A, 62 physicians were asked if they were completely satisfied with their patient's prophylactic treatment. Physicians reported reasons for dissatisfaction on behalf of 31 patients on FVIII mimetic and 55 patients on FVIII EHL prophylaxis.
Questions asked: “Please indicate your overall satisfaction with the current treatment in terms of how well it manages the patient’s hemophilia” and “Why are you not completely satisfied with the patient's current prophylactic treatment?”

Researchers continue to explore different ways to prevent bleeds
While non-factor therapies have improved options for people living with hemophilia A, researchers are still investigating in a few key areas, including:
• How therapies work with the clotting cascade
• How therapy is administered
• How much and how often treatments are dosed
Keeping track of your treatment experiences can help show evidence of your concerns when speaking with your doctor. Here’s a discussion guide that can help.
